OLD COMPTON STREET
London, W1
PROJECT STORY
The site comprises 5 buildings. The upper floors are occupied by 2 office tenants with retail space at ground. Although the buildings are in a poor state of repair, the proposals seek to promote sustainability and rather than bringing forward a full redevelopment the designs seek to extend and enhance the buildings, whilst maximising reuse of existing structures. 97% of the floor slabs will be retained, creating new enhanced flexible office space.
The offices will be access via a new entrance on Bourchier Street, activating this frontage and allowing the retail to be extended on Old Compton Street. The scheme will bring forward much need public realm improvements to Bourchier Street which we hope will discourage anti-social behaviour.
The scheme seeks to promote sustainability and includes PV panels, Air Source Heat Pumps, green roofs, enhanced biodiversity and extensive end of trip facilities to promote sustainable transport modes.
DML's ROLE
